About Us
Great restaurants stand the test of time. They are the ones that offer good food, good drink, and great value. We are proud to say that our family has served the Northern Berkshires since 1986. And the community is part of us.
When hometown girl Ali Fedotowsky was on the finale of the Bachelorette, the family and friends came here to watch the show and celebrate. (They came here to watch every week.) We’ve hosted weddings, graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, World Series championships, and Super Bowl victories.
The Freight Yard Pub is also the place where visitors from MassMOCA, Williams College, and MCLA come to relax and enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner without the need to dress up. We welcome you to our family.
We always wanted the Freight Yard Pub to cater to all different types of people. “It’s like a mixing pot of people,” says owner Colleen Taylor. “Where else can one see so many different walks of life in one place be so comfortable and at ease. It’s because they all know they are welcome here.”
Say hello when you come in. We are Sean and Colleen Taylor, Brother and Sister. We grew up in the northern Berkshires and started working together in high school. Our front of the house manager, Malinda, has been with us for eight years and recently married Sean. Please welcome her to our family, too.
This is our passion. We are glad that you are here.
How To Get Here
Finding Us
The Freight Yard Pub is conveniently right off of Route 8 in the historic Western Gateway Heritage State Park. The Park consists of a complex of several buildings and rail cars, in an old rail yard. It features the story of the building of the Hoosac Tunnel in the mid-1800s, which was an engineering marvel in its day linking Boston and the Atlantic Ocean to Upstate New York, the Erie Canal, and the Great Lakes.

Keeping Us Healthy
Covid-19 Response
We take the health and safety of our guests and staff extremely seriously. Rest assured that we follow strict safety guidelines. We adhere to CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health recommendations for prevention and will continue to monitor their suggestions.
Some of the steps that we have implemented:
- Our staff is required to wear masks while at work. They must wash their hands, sanitize between contact and/or change gloves between tasks.
- We sanitize every table between guest seatings. You can be confident when we have placed the “sanitized” card on the table.
- We removed items from the tables that might be handled by multiple guests, including salt and pepper shakers as well as paper menus.
- We increased the frequency of our sanitizing and disinfecting measures throughout our restaurant. We also have sanitizing stations located throughout.
- We removed bar stools. Tables indoors and outdoors are placed at least of six feet apart. We ask that customers do not move tables without management approval.
- Customers must wear masks when on the property except when seated at a table. Mask wearing is required when entering or leaving the restaurant or while using the restrooms.
